LEVELS
There's something for everyone
Diplomas
The first year of an undergraduate degree is equivalent to the International Year One (also formerly known as the International Diploma in some universities). Students may continue on to year 2 of a specified undergraduate degree in the affiliated university after successfully completing this 1-year course.
Undergraduate
The initial level of university study after high school is the undergraduate degree, which typically requires three to five years to complete. Two popular degrees are the bachelor of arts and the bachelor of science.
Masters
After completing a term of study that demonstrates expertise or a high-order overview of a particular field of study or area of professional practise, students are awarded a master's degree by universities or colleges.
PhD
The most typical degree conferred at the highest academic level after a course of study is a doctor of philosophy. PhDs are granted for studies in the whole range of academic disciplines.
