Natural Science and Mathematics

Natural Science is a branch of science that deals exclusively with the description and understanding of natural phenomena based on evidence and experimentation. In order to understand why certain things occur in nature and find out whether they are a part of natural sciences, people must investigate and conduct researches.

Natural science is divided into two main branches:

Life science
Physical science.
Life science is the study of living things. It is also known as biology and is a wide-ranging subject covering many subfields such as botany, zoology, microbiology, genetics, and neurology. Physical science, on the other hand, is divided into Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy, and Earth Sciences. These branches, however, can be further sub-divided into more specialized fields such as astrophysics, geology, planetary science, meteorology, geography, and oceanography.

In the modern world today people are constantly trying to comprehend and decipher natural phenomena, therefore studying natural science is an excellent option. At the Undergraduate level, students can major in Natural Science and study it as a Bachelor of Science. After completing their Bachelor's degree, students can further secure a Masters's degree (MSc) in natural science at the postgraduate level. Following this, they can take up a further education degree pursuing a Ph.D. in natural science.

Mathematics is of two types:

Pure Mathematics: it is the study of topics like:
Quantity (Number Theory)
Structure (Algebra)
Space (Geometry)
Change (Mathematical Analysis)
Applied Mathematics: it is the application of mathematical methods in other fields such as physics, medicine, and engineering.
The important topics covered by Applied Mathematics are:

Statistics: it is the study of the collection, analysis, interpretation, and organization of data.
Financial Mathematics: it is the application of mathematical methods to financial problems through the use of tools such as probability, statistics, and economic theory.
Calculus: it deals with the study of limits, functions, derivatives, integrals, and infinite series. It serves as the basis for all mathematical calculations and engineering applications.
A degree in Mathematics not only helps students understand numbers, equations, and methodologies but also instills other important skills that are applicable to a broad spectrum of fields.

The different levels of studying Mathematics are:

Associate Degree: It is a combination of general education and math. In order to enroll in these courses, students must have a high school degree. On the completion of these courses, they will receive an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree.

Bachelors Degree: Students can opt for a BA or B.Sc. degree in Mathematics.
Masters Degree: It is a two-year course, suitable for students who wish to teach or increase their expertise in the subject.

Ph.D.: students need a Masters's degree to apply for a Ph.D. It trains them to become researchers, scholars, and experts in special areas of their choice.

Geoscientists: they learn about the past, present, and future by studying the physical aspects of the Earth, such as composition, structure, and processes.
