Communication Science is a sub-discipline under Social Sciences that studies human communication processes and behaviors, communication in interpersonal relationships, and social interactions in different groups and cultures. It focuses on verbal and non-verbal communication and examines human behavior from a scientific point of view.

Students who pursue a degree in Communication Science are taught to use various methods, techniques, and treatments to assist individuals with communication impairments to communicate on a day-to-day basis. The study program involves the investigation of speech, hearing, and learning development and how impairments can affect the life and wellbeing of a person.

It is a discipline that uses empirical investigation and critical analysis to understand a wide range of topics related to communication, both one-on-one communication and communication in a group. Communication Science draws from other disciplines that deal with human behavior, such as psychology, sociology, political science, and other fields that study and analyze human behavior.

Students pursuing this course learn to design, develop and manage communication projects and process and analyze the new trends in communication. They also learn how to explain communication issues and put what they have learned into practice. Knowledge of Communication Science can be applied to fields like media, journalism, businesses, public relations, news, education, and many more.
